Rope Rescue at Box Canyon

This was a very difficult rescue.  Rescuers got hit by a pretty good thunderstorm which got all of our equipment wet.  Ropes do not grip well when wet.

There was a 600 foot rope being used as the main haul line. This resulted in using a mechanical advantage for the haul system which was ganged to the main line. The prussic was slipping on the main line because it was wet.

We also had slippage on the mechanical advantage which caused many delays in the rescue.  Footing was an issue for all rescuers because of wet rocks.

We had good communication and coordination among rescuers which eventually resulted in a successful rescue in very difficult circumstances.

Good job by all involved.
